Creative coaching for imaginative teens

Main Character is an arts program offering one-on-one coaching for creative adolescents, with a particular focus on supporting teens with ADHD and autism. I specialize in language arts and storytelling-based communication, and also coach interdisciplinary arts and core high-school subjects. I also lead small-group workshops for groups of students or educators. My program welcomes creative, college-bound teens seeking enrichment, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis.

What does Main Character Offer?

One-on-one coaching centered on imagination, voice, and storytelling. Primary areas include creative writing, podcasting, short films, and zine-making.

Traditional tutoring across middle and high school subjects, with an emphasis on clarity, confidence, and skill-building.

Customizable, in-person analog arts workshops for schools and learning communities, designed to spark creativity and deep engagement.

Particular experience working with students with ADHD, language-disorders, and autism. I also work with student athletes, who have the toughest schedule.

I survived my teen years thanks to an arts practice. The arts helped me see a path for myself. Curiosity I’d built through nurturing my creative side made the college transition go smoothly, and I immediately thrived in some tough classes.

“I’m so blessed to have you teach my children and my nephew! The more time you can get with them the better.”

“Your support has been important in stimulating her more and is an important part of the progress she shows every day. Keep pushing—she likes to be challenged… the writing awards can definitely help her in the college application.”

“Your class is the only class this semester that I look forward to. My schedule at the moment is pretty busy and stressful, but I don’t feel worried about your class because I always enjoy it.”
